Fundamentals of Photography Workshop
RAL will offer the basic photography course you’ve been looking for at the Studio Gallery this winter and spring. Former US Department of Interior Geological Survey and FEMA photographer Bill Reckert will teach the course. His comprehensive approach to teaching basic photography--plain language lectures reinforced with hands-on exercises and helpful critiques—has enabled 1800 students over 30 years to make well-focused, well-exposed, well-composed photographs. Students will learn how to use their camera settings, lenses, filters, and flash and how to apply composition and design principles to shoot critically and creatively.
The course is open to anyone who’s interested in photography, from total newbies to old hands. It doesn’t matter whether you use a digital or film camera, your phone, or your tablet to take pictures. If you don’t have a camera or are looking to upgrade, this course will help you decide what kind of camera is best for you before you make an investment.
